Home of the Mennonite Heritage Village

Tour west and north on highways 11 and 12 to Steinbach, The Automobile City. As vehicle shoppers have found out, "It's worth the trip". Founded in 1874 by Mennonite families from Russia, Steinbach is an agriculturally based community built on hard work and dedication.

The hub of Southeast Manitoba business, industry, agriculture and education, this city has lots for tourists to explore.

Pride in their past history is a strong value in Steinbach. The world class Mennonite Heritage Village exemplifies this pride and illustrates a traditional way of life that was part of southern Manitoba in the early 1900s. Step back in time to experience a variety of events, celebrations, and exhibits at "the Village" year-round. Visit the gift shop featuring locally crafted items and be sure to try a traditional Mennonite meal on site at the Livery Barn Restaurant.

If you're a golfer you don't want to miss The Links at Quarry Oaks. This 4 star course is just a few miles northeast of Steinbach. One of the top 30 public courses in Canada, this full service facility has it all, a treat to see and a pleasure to play. You might also find the Steinbach Fly-in Golf Course to your liking. This picturesque 18 hole course, adjacent to the local airport, features a fine pro shop and on site restaurant. Check it out!

Looking for other great things to do in the Steinbach area? The friendly folks at the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce office will be happy to direct you to the other nearby attractions, recommend interesting activities and great places to eat.
